You might be wondering who’s behind this.

I’m Laura… (and this is Sassy 🐾)

I’m a licensed minister and soul care guide who has spent a lot of time learning how to sit in the in-between places of life—the quiet places, the hard places, the ones where faith doesn’t always come with easy answers.

Why The Journal Exists

This journal was created as a quiet place to pause.

A place to notice what’s stirring, to sit with what feels heavy, and to remember you don’t have to carry it alone.

This special edition is offered freely—just a gentle invitation to slow down, breathe, and begin again right where you are.

A Bit of My Story

There were seasons when I was deeply tired—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Not the kind of tired that sleep fixes.

The kind that settles deeper.

And in those moments, I began to notice something unexpected.

God was still present.

Not in big, dramatic ways,
but in small, steady ones—
at the counter, in ordinary moments, in the quiet spaces where life was still unfolding.

What This Space Is

Now, everything I create—the podcast, the writing, the journal—comes from that place.

I don’t offer formulas or quick fixes.

I simply create space.

Space to slow down.
Space to notice.
Space to bring your whole self before God, just as you are.

Invitation to the Journal

The Soul Pause Journal grew out of that same need—

a place to sit with what you’re carrying, without pressure to fix it.

The Special Edition Soul Pause Journal grew out of that same need— a place to sit with what you’re carrying, without pressure to fix it. You can download it below.

And At the Counter: Spiritual Recipes for Faith in Everyday Life is simply more of that same conversation… just written down.

Nothing complicated.
Just space to return to.

If that kind of space feels like something you need…you’re always welcome at the counter.

If this space spoke to you,
you’re welcome to stay awhile.
